Being a father of a girl, I feel it my duty to constantly make sure that she knows that she can do anything, not only because she might have marfan, but because she is also female, and that being a woman should not stop her from anything.
That's why pieces like this one make me feel fortunate to be living in this time.

The problem with having had heart surgery, is that every time I have to go to the dentist, I need to take antibiotics... and every time I go to a new dentist, I have to get a letter from my Cardiologist saying that it's okay to do dental work if I take antiobiotics.

Today was my daughter's echo. I had been fearing it since we made the appointment... even though I didn't want to have that power over me.
Her echo was fine. However, it still leaves us slightly in the dark as to whether or not she has Marfan.
